The 6 Steps It Takes to Become a Real Estate Agent
--
Becoming a real estate agent is easy. Here’s how to do it:
Sign up for classes
You have to take the first step, which is signing up for classes. With the pandemic changing so many things in our world, you can now take real estate classes online, which is what I did.
Decide if you would prefer to take in-person classes, or online classes. In September 2020 when I first started my classes, the only option I had was online classes, which was completely fine with me.
So decide between in-person or online. Which option saves you more time? Which option makes more sense? Do you learn better in-person or online?
These are the questions you need to ask yourself.
Take the classes
After deciding your class style, now you get busy taking classes and accomplishing your 40 hours (you need 40 hours of real estate classes in order to move on).
Here are the topics covered in the real estate course:
- The Basics
- Property Rights
- Interests in Real Estate
- Limitations on Property Rights
- Property Valuation
- Contracts
- Leases
- Transfer of Property
- Real Estate Agency
- Fair Housing
- Introduction to Real Estate Financing
- Government Financing Programs and Regulations
- Consumer Protection Laws
- Section About Your State
I’m not completely positive if every state in the US has these exact sections, but I’m willing to bet it’s pretty close.
Seeing all of these topics may seem overwhelming, I was right there with you in 2020. But I simply took it section by section. That was the beauty of doing the online course, I took the classes at my own pace.
So break it down to just one section at a time and you’ll feel less stressed.
