Short answer: yes.

As an agent myself, I wouldn’t have gotten my license if this wasn’t the case.

Believe it or not, real estate agents will be in demand for quite some time (hopefully robots don’t take over the industry one day). Real estate is one those industries where a human to human connection is still crucial.

People don’t want to do everything on the internet just yet. Millions of Americans use a real estate agent every year. That’s not going away anytime soon.

FSBO

There’s a small group of people who pass on using an agent to help sell their home, or buy a home. Instead they take matters into their own hands. This is commonly referred to as “FSBO” aka “for sale by owner.”

However, the vast majority of people choose to use an agent. The reason for using an agent is simple: we have the knowledge/tools to sell your home faster and for more money.

It’s statistically proven that when using an agent, you will sell your home for more money and quicker. Agents study the local market daily. They know which list prices make the most sense. We also have access to the MLS which is where the vast majority of listings get posted.

Here’s the thing: so many real estate agents end up failing or quitting in their first year.

There’s a massive group of agents who enter into real estate and immediately become overwhelmed. They quickly realize that it’s not so easy to get clients, stay-up-to-date on the happenings of the market, advertise themselves, and so much more.

If you prefer to sell your home faster and for more money, then hiring an agent is your best course of action.

Do your due diligence when it comes to finding an agent.
