#AskGaryVee was written by entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk. This book has to be in the hands of every single marketer, entrepreneur, or anyone interested in growing their social media. The amount of value that Gary shares with his audience is otherworldly. He gives his audience free value all across the board. The only thing his audience has to pay for is his books. It is well worth it.

This book #AskGaryVee is one of the most valuable books I have ever read. The amount of content you can take away from this book and implement it in your social media strategy, your business, and even your life, is second to none.

This book is based off his popular YouTube series called “AskGaryVee.” In this series, he has a guest on his show and people call in with a question that they have relating to business, social media, or whatever the case may be. The book has questions from the show with more detailed answers by the man himself.

Content and Context

There’s 22 chapters total in this book. You can take away valuable information from each and every chapter. My favorite chapter is titled “Content and Context.” Gary goes into great detail on what you should be posting on social media, and also how to properly engage with your audience. The first sentence in the chapter tells you all what you need to know — “People buy with their hearts, not their heads, and the way to every consumer’s heart is through a good story.” I could not agree with this sentence any more. If your story sucks, you won’t make any money. Tell a good story and your consumer’s will be interested in your product/service. Simple as that.

There are a lot of things that work now, but won’t work in the future. One thing is for sure though. A good story will always work in business, no matter what type of business it is.

Do you know what is considered quality content? No? Not too many people do. There are 4 simple steps according to Gary — it appeals to the heart, it’s shareable, it’s native to the platform on which it appears (the content fits well with the specific platform), and it breaks the noise. Those 4 steps will guide you in the pursuit of creating great content.

If there is one thing that Gary has learned in all of his years in the business world, putting out crap content…
