Stress.

It happens to the best of us.

Today was one of those days for me.

When unexpected things happen, it takes hold of my mind. Depending on what it is, I constantly think about it for an entire day. However, I’ve improved on it over the last few years (thank you, Stoicism).

As a Realtor, you need to expect the unexpected. That’s what this industry revolves around. There are times when I’m so consumed by stressful thought patterns that it takes hours to work my way out of it.

I’ve quickly come to learn that people will try to take advantage of me in this business due to my age. The only solution for this is to control my emotions and thoughts, which is a work in progress.

Not having an emotional reaction to any outcome is an ultimate goal for my work and my life. Not having an emotional reaction to things out of my control is an ultimate goal.

You’re going to get pulled in many directions throughout your life and work. How you handle it is up to you. The one thing you have complete control over is your state of mind. And when you have 100% control over this, it should become a superpower.

Wake-up call
