Is Snapchat the Lost Art of Social Media Marketing?
--
Snapchat may be the most under-appreciated social networks among the “big guys”.
Snapchat can be very powerful if you know how to properly use it. My goal with this post is to give you the groundwork for your Snapchat marketing strategy. At least the basics.
Snapchat marketing strategy
Snapchat is a very unique place to market. You can reap the benefits with this platform if you stick to it and put out quality content on it. Content is King and Always Will Be goes into depth on the value of quality content.
I’m going to go through some Snapchat content ideas for the rest of this post.
- Giveaways
Everyone loves giveaways! Do some giveaways every now and then, it will make your customers more engaged with your content and leaves them wanting more.
Say your a fitness trainer. Do a Snapchat story giveaway for a free month of fitness training by you or someone on your team. Have your audience screenshot to be able to enter and you will randomly choose one participant.
Another way that you could have them participate is to have them swipe up (you can add a link to your website or whatever you want) which brings them to your website where you can collect their email to be able to enter to win the giveaway.
The swipe up feature is a game changer for brands and businesses alike. You can bring people off of their Snapchat and onto your website where they can enter their email and maybe do a little shopping while they’re at it.
2. Behind the scenes
You’re going to notice that I am a big believer in behind the scenes footage. It’s because it works. You can literally do behind the scenes footage on any platform, but Snapchat is especially useful. I am a young adult and I find behind the scenes footage fascinating. For example, I am a huge New England Patriots fan, and I follow them on Snapchat. I love when they post pictures and videos of Tom Brady at practice, or when they post a video of the postgame speech by Bill Belichick.
That right there, is what I want to see. I’m sure most of you love to see that type of stuff for your favorite sports teams and what they are doing…
