When was the last time you truly felt alive — when the world seemed to stand still, and it was just you and nature?

It was 24 degrees on a cloudy morning.

The trees stood silent. Their branches were stripped bare by the changing of the seasons.

No birds were chirping in the barren trees, no cars making their way down the quiet road.

The only sounds were sneakers pressing against the frost-covered pavement, a light breeze making its way down the quiet New England road, and the breath of a human being on a cold late fall morning.

That was my Sunday, December 1st, 2024.

As peaceful a 21 minutes one can have.

It’s moments like these that I realize how much we lose in the noise of daily life. And yet, these quiet walks offer more than just physical exercise — they bring clarity.

There’s something about walking when the temperature ticks below 32 degrees.

It makes you feel alive. The cold air makes its way into your lungs, your nose starts to run, and your cheeks begin to feel the sting of the cold air.

It’s beautiful.

I feel more accomplished when I complete a walk in cold weather, rather than on warmer days. Maybe because…
