2017 is coming to a close in the matter of hours. That brings up the question, what exactly will social media look like on this date next year?
One thing is for certain. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and possibly Twitter will still be the giants of the social networking world unless something drastic happens.
It’s hard to imagine, but Facebook is still growing. They’ve been in business for well over a decade and have shown no signs of slowing down. They have continued to improve the platform and have made so many changes over the years. This platform has adapted to be one of the biggest factors in video. Right up there with YouTube. They were one of the first platforms to roll out live video which is such a crucial aspect to this platform today.
Facebook incorporated Snapchat stories and personalized stories to best fit the platform. Stories have been a great addition which benefits the consumers a whole lot.
Additionally, Facebook ads are still one of the most important features. If you’re a business/brand, and you’re not using Facebook ads to promote your business/brand, then it would be a great idea to make that part of your new year’s resolution.
Facebook’s future plans
Facebook is diving dip into the augmented/virtual reality world. They’re working on glasses that can do both augmented and virtual reality.
Facebook is also trying to connect the undevloped countries with the rest of the world. They are currently trying to build drones that will give everyone internet access, which would drastically increase their popularity.
With over 2 billion users and growing, Facebook is the place to be for all businesses and brands.
As of September 2017, Instagram reached 800 million active monthly users. The platform is growing at a rapid pace, so by December 31, 2018, this platform will most definitely be over 1 billion active monthly users. Instagram is still in their growth stage as well. They will also not be going anywhere anytime soon.
